About Mr. Erlenbeck
Hi everyone! My name is Kyle Erlenbeck and I am a science teacher here at Castle View High School. I was born and raised in the great state of Michigan and obtained a Bachelors of Science degree from Michigan State University in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. For two years I worked at Michigan State on a grant funded through the National Science Foundation that explored how science is learned through a web-based inquiry learning environment. In 2012, I knocked off a big bucket list item by becoming a published author in Science Scope Magazine. During this time, I also taught biology and chemistry classes in a couple of high schools in Michigan. I have also completed and graduated from Michigan State University's teacher preparation program.
Currently, I am continuing my education through pursuit of a Master's degree in Molecular Biosciences from Washington State University. I intend to use this degree to create advanced opportunities, specifically in biotechnical engineering, for my students at CVHS. I have five main passions in life -- learning, teaching, family, science, and Detroit Red Wings hockey. Even though I now reside in Avalanche country I guarantee you will see me walking the halls donning the Winged Wheel, and no, I'm not apologizing for it. I love traveling when I get the chance, reading, and I am all about some good tunes. I have a killer music collection which you'll hear in class from time-to-time. If you're not familiar with 90's music you will be after taking one of my classes. This is my eighth year at CVHS and I've enjoyed every moment I've been here. I'm looking forward to another exciting year with all of you. 2020-21 Term 1 Schedule
